Invisible Orthodontics Personalized for Your Smile

Have you been wanting a straighter, more beautiful smile, but been avoiding treatment due to the unattractive appearance of metal braces? If so, we have the perfect solution: Invisalign clear braces. Instead of uncomfortable, noticeable brackets and wires fixed to your smile, we offer an easy to use, effective, and borderline invisible alternative. Read on to learn more about Invisalign in Whitinsville.

How Invisalign Works

Before and after Invisalign smile example

Unlike metal braces that are permanently fixed to your smile, Invisalign utilizes a series of clear, removeable plastic aligning trays that gradually shift your teeth into place. Each aligner represents a different stage in the series, and you’ll wear each tray 20 to 22 hours a day, for about 2 weeks. After around 8 to 16 months, you’ll complete your treatment, and we’ll give you a retainer to maintain your results. Throughout the process, you’ll visit our office so Dr. Tubo or one of our other experts can ensure that your treatment is going smoothly.

Indications for Invisalign

We use Invisalign to treat a variety of common orthodontic issues, including:

Crowded Teeth

Having teeth that are too close together affects your appearance, but it also makes it more difficult to care for your smile. Tooth decay and gum disease become risks when plaque and bacteria can’t be cleaned away. Thankfully, Invisalign creates needed space for easy brushing and flossing.

Spaces Between Teeth

A gap in your smile may cause you to hide your teeth in public, however this space can also become home to lingering food debris and plaque that eat away at your teeth and gums. However, Invisalign can push these teeth together for proper alignment and a beautiful smile.

Bite Alignment

Bite problems put pressure on the jaw joints, causing discomfort and dysfunction in some cases. However, it also leaves you more susceptible to teeth grinding and the wear that comes with it. Invisalign can correct overbite, underbite, and crossbite to prevent these issues.

Benefits of Invisalign Orthodontics

Invisalign offers a wide range of unique benefits like:

  • Appearance: Made of clear plastic, Invisalign is incredibly discreet, allowing you to smile in your professional and social lives without feeling self-conscious.
  • Comfort: Invisalign’s smooth plastic makes the wearing experience incredibly comfortable, avoiding the irritation that metal brackets and wires cause.
  • Treatment time: Typically, patients will achieve the straight smile of their dreams in 18 months at the most, which is still months shorter than traditional braces.

Cost of Invisalign

No two smiles are the same, which is why it’s difficult to receive a precise estimate for your Invisalign. The only way to know the price of your treatment with certainty is to visit Dr. Tubo, our expert cosmetic dentist in Whitinsville, for a consultation. He will carefully examine your smile before providing a personalized treatment plan that includes the overall cost.

Are you still curious about Invisalign in Whitinsville? You’re in the right place! For any specific concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact our office to speak with one of our friendly experts. Until then, we’ve included the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Invisalign. Read on to satisfy your curiosity and get the information you need!

How Long Does Invisalign Take?

There are a variety of factors that influence the time that your treatment will take, including the degree of your misalignment and how committed you are to your Invisalign instructions. Usually, treatment will take between 12 to 18 months. If your case is milder, you may be able to complete your Invisalign in just 6 months. While 18 months may seem like a long time, keep in mind that this is still 4 months shorter than the average treatment time with braces. By following the treatment plan and visiting our office regularly, you can make your Invisalign efficient and on schedule.

What Happens After Invisalign?

Once you’ve completed Invisalign, the hard part is over! However, it’s up to you to protect the time and money you spent on achieving straight teeth by using retainers. These oral appliances are comfortable to wear, and they’re designed to maintain your beautiful, straight results. Typically, you can choose between wire retainers or plastic ones that look like your Invisalign clear aligners. Based on your specific needs, we’ll recommend the designated times that you must wear your retainers. This may start off as full time then slowly transitioning to wearing them only at night.

Does the dentist print aligners in-office?

No – we take impressions of the smile, which are sent to a lab that creates your Invisalign. Experts carefully create your series of aligners out of smooth, clear plastic. These aligners are designed to work in a series that gradually shifts your teeth into place. Once they’re made, we’ll have you visit our office to get your Invisalign clear braces. Throughout your treatment, we’ll ensure that your aligners are working properly, and your smile is healthy with follow-up appointments.

Does the dentist use a digital impression system?

Yes – instead of relying on messy, nasty, and uncomfortable putty to create impressions, we use an all-digital impression system! This allows us to take hundreds of pictures in a matter of seconds. Once these images are taken, we combine them to create a complete 3D model of your teeth. We can use this for many treatments, but it’s especially beneficial for Invisalign because it leads to treatment that is more precise and less of a hassle. Plus, our cosmetic dentist in Whitinsville can even show you what your smile will look like once you’re done with Invisalign.
