Dentures and Partials for Full Smiles from Whitinsville Family Dentistry

You want a smile that's full and complete. If you're missing teeth, you're probably suffering with lack of confidence in your smile, trouble speaking and eating comfortably, and possibly other oral health problems. Missing teeth are a complicated issue, but there are several solutions available. One solution is the use of a full or partial denture.

What is a partial denture?

Whenever you hear someone refer to a "partial," they're talking about a partial denture. A partial denture is made of replacement teeth embedded in a soft tissue-colored base, arranged according to your pattern of missing teeth. A partial is different from a full denture in that it is used when some teeth still remain, and these remaining teeth act as the anchor for your partial denture. Like a full denture, a partial denture is removable.

What is a full denture?

If you're missing all of your top or bottom teeth, a full denture is used to replace them. Like a partial denture, a full denture consists of replacement teeth set in a gum-colored base. Traditionally, dentures have been held in place by natural suction or adhesive creams, but at Whitinsville Family Dentistry we also offer implant-supported dentures.

You might want to consider dental implants or an implant-supported denture instead of a traditional denture or partial, but which you choose is going to be based on a number of factors. We can help you figure out what form of tooth replacement will be best for you at our Whitinsville dental office. Contact us for an appointment.
